23-year-old Swiss wonder boy Kalian started playing violin at nine. He soon realised that to play an electric guitar was a lot cooler and moved on to start a band. After four years of playing funk, the band split up and Kilian moved on to study jazz in Luzern.

The theory of music was not his cup of tea so he left after a year. At trance parties he realised that these weird sounds was his thing, music with no boundaries and no rules.

At a party in -99, Atmos - another Spiral Trax artist, found Kilian selling demos to get money for the bus ride home. He thought, "This guy deserves better" and brought a CD back to the Spiral Trax HQ. The rest is, like they say, history.

Soon the debut single by XV Kilist was released to great appreciation. Since then Kilian has kept himself busy releasing on labels such as Naja, Plastic Park and his own label Traktor Schallabor that he runs with his partner Ramon. Kilian has developed his own unique sound, minimal, very rhythmic and with a heavy influence from his early funk days. But still with a twisted touch of trance.
