Vibrasphere
are Rickard Berglöf and Robert Elster, from Uppsala, Sweden. Rickard has
been producing electronic dance music since the beginning of the 90´s.
Together with his earlier partner Fredrik Axelsson he had a row of releases
as Subcouds, one of the first Swedish trance acts to make themselves a
name on the global scene.
Rickard and
Robert started their collaboration in 1997, and a year later they had
their first release as Vibrasphere ready, the by now rather famous "The
Open Sphere".
After its
release on UK label Psychic Deli Records it became a frequently played
tune by DJ's worldwide. This tune introduced what was going to become
the trademark of Vibrasphere: dub chords draped in echoes on top of a
progressive trance dipped atmosphere.
By the end
of 1999 they had finished their next two mind-blowing tracks, "Nowhere"
and "Autopilot". Both were quickly picked up by London based label Transient.
"Nowhere" was also chosen for the hugely popular "A progress in trance"
compilation that was compiled by Spiral Trax's Anti for the same label.
This year
they locked themselves in their "Studio 99" to work on their debut album.
The result you are now holding in your hand. An album that is a prime
example of the now famous Swedish trance sound championed by Spiral Trax.
Huge progressive "off your bollocks" trance, with bass lines fat enough
to make your world tremble. But it also contains some chilled out tracks
with a heavy dub influence. The whole album is dedicated to the boys fixation
with echoing effects, hence the title, even down to the cover design which
is the graphic picture of an echo.
