“Division by Zero” is
the long anticipated second album by Hux Flux, the originators of the
Swedish psychedelic trance sound.
Four years ago Hux Flux released their well-received debut album “Cryptic
Crunch” on Koyote Records, and they soon after became one of the
most popular names in the psychedelic trance scene as well as one of
the most influential acts for the Scandinavian trance movement. Many
have attempted to copy their unique sound but none have come close.
Dennis Tapper founded
Hux Flux after being inspired by the now legendary forest parties outside
of Örebro.
Dennis’ first release, “Time Slices / Perceptor” was
produced in1998. He was soon joined by Jonas Pettersson (later to form
Logic Bomb), which resulted in the hugely successful debut album “Cryptic
Crunch” in 1999. Hux Flux immediately became a popular live-act
and jetting to exotic places such as India, Russia, Morocco, Brazil and
South Africa soon became a way of life for Dennis.
Later Dennis moved
to Stockholm and started producing with his old friend Henrik Fietz.
The first release from that partnership was the now classic
track, “Idiot”, featured on the “A Progress in Trance” compilation
on Transient; a compilation that has become a landmark in the development
of the Scandinavian trance sound. It was compiled by Spiral Trax’s
DJ Anti and rocketed many of the artists featured on the album into psy-trance
superstardom.
After a few sporadic
releases on various labels, Hux Flux released the single “Lex Rex Perplex/ Errorhead” on Spiral Trax in 2000
and plans for an album was made. Due to unfortunate circumstances the
work had to be postponed for nearly a year. Finally, after many delays
and problems, the long awaited second album is about to be released.
The timing couldn’t be better since the neo full-on is sweeping
the dancefloors of the universe, one of the original psychedelic trance
outfit is back to rock the world.
