Downbeat
grooves from the Scandinavian shores!
Ease Division
is a series of downbeat and chill-out compilations from Spiral Trax. Here
we have gathered an amazing collection of downbeat Scandinavian music
from some of the most prolific electronic music producers around.
First out
is a new remix of Vibrasphere's fantastic 'San Pedro'. The original created
such a buzz that it was licensed to heaps of compilations and got the
support of highly acclaimed artists like Talvin Singh, who even picked
it for his mix CD.
Second is
a funky downbeat offering by Saiko-pod. 'Wednesday' is taken from their
album 'Phutures & Options' which was released on Spiral Trax last year.
Lately they have been getting a lot of attention in the progressive house
scene through a row of remixes of tracks from the same album, which have
been released on ACDC.
Next out
is a real gem; Robert Leiner is one of the most influential Swedish techno
artists ever. His 1993 album, 'Organized Noise', on R&S is a milestone
in techno history. In those days, he was working with artists such as
CJ Bolland, Juan Atkins, Lenny Dee and LFO. He has remixed Jam & Spoon's
masterpiece "Stella" as well as Juno Reactor and Front 242's side project,
Male or Female. 'Lunar Suite' is stellar piece of Pink Floyd-ish freestyle
jamming. His 'Roots FM1' track from our last Ease Division was picked
up for the Space Nights compilation on the German Electrolux label.
Matenda is
another Swedish producer that has received a lot of attention lately.
Continuing with the sublime dub of Stress Assassin, one of Sweden's best
distinguished dub producers. He has also just finished his second album;
'Carrier Track, which will be released on Spiral Trax shortly.
Magnus Birgersson's
Solar Fields project has already released three albums on the French label
Ultimae Records. His 'Compressed Universe' is a magnificent piece of ambient
music.
Next out
is Human Blue, one of Sweden's most popular trance producers. His uplifting
trance style has made him for example a favourite with John 00 Flemming.
With 'Swing Delight', he definitely shows his skills as a downbeat producer.
Last but
not least are two tracks by Michael Andresen, the man responsible for
compiling this CD. With his Healer project, he managed to release an amazing
debut album on Flying Rhino in 2000.
