Scandinavian
trance compiled by
DJ Bakke.
Bakkelit
is the new compilation from Spiral Trax. Here, with a few exceptions,
we move away from the established Swedish acts, and on the other hand,
give some fresh talent a chance. The album has been compiled by DJ Bakke,
a 26 year old promising Swedish DJ that has been a Spiral Trax DJ for
some years now. He has also been involved in the production of some tracks
on Noma's first album. DJ Bakke is a regular guest at parties in Germany,
Switzerland, Denmark and of course all over Sweden.
The compilation
begins with Antoine with his unique techno and jazz inspired trance sound
that makes him a very interesting act to keep an eye on for the future.
'Straight' is somewhat more laid back than his previous release on Spiral
Trax earlier this year. Logarhythmic is a collaboration between two experienced
producers: Morg, also known as Katayama, and Human Blue. Rocket Ride has
already proven itself as a definite party tune in Sweden with its spoken
rocket launch countdown sample. All in Swedish of course!
Rikard Ligander,
aka R, is also a new producer, who has a long history as a music technician
and is one of the best Thrash Metal drummers in Gothenburg. He used to
play in a band called Pagandom that was touring around quite a bit in
Europe in their days.
The CD continues
with Moonstomping by Noma that's taken from his last single. Next out
is Matenda with a new track called Stormchaser, a bit tougher than his
usual morning sound. 'Calming Fender' is a beautiful guitar tinged morning
tune by Chromosome; a duo from the middle of Sweden that already have
been creating quite a buzz DJ-ing at underground parties around the world.
Professor Kompressor is another talented progressive producer from Gothenburg
to watch out for.
Birtik and
Artax, together with Chromosome, can be considered to represent the new
psychedelic sound coming from the heart of Sweden. Lars from Artax is
also the younger brother of Jonaz Bergwall; a former member of Logic Bomb.
