2nd Brigade is the
long awaited second artist album by Atmos, which is the follow-up to
the hugely successful debut, ‘Headcleaner’.
Some might claim that he had already released a second album on Flying
Rhino. However that was just a concept album containing tracks meant
for singles, some remixes and productions from his side project Echölab,
showcasing his more experimental sound. On 2nd Brigade Atmos is back
in the true style that thousands came to love through his first album, ‘Headcleaner’.
Polish born
Tomasz Balicki is one of the most popular progressive trance producers
in the world and his music has certainly made a huge impact
on the development of the global trance scene. Even though being strongly
affiliated with trance music he manages to stay clear of the cheesiness
and high BPMs that has become the norm in trance of today.
Just as
his debut changed the sound of trance forever, 2nd Brigade will be
a vital change from the dominating full-on noise assault called psychedelic
trance and the exceedingly melodic commercial trance. On 2nd Brigade Tomasz crosses boundaries and we can proudly say that
there is something for everybody on the album. He blends influences from
progressive house, trance, tribal and tech-house perfectly without making
a confused impression.
The album opens with the sublime intro of Raumwelt Signal and moves
into Al Bummer, a progressive stomper that has already received massive
dance floor approval. Next up is KNS with its blissful harmonies followed
by Metro Deluxe from the previous single. On Umbau things get slightly
harder with a driving analogue bassline that continues with Scent Of
A Tunnel, an uplifting acid-trancer. Finally the album ends with Transmission
In Vain, by many expected to be the smash-hit from the album, and the
beautifully guitar tinged Ordinary Weekend.
Atmos has been constantly on the road for the last year, DJ-ing and
playing live to ecstatic crowds all over the world and he will be appearing
at some of the most biggest clubs and festivals this summer.
The album will also
be followed up with at least two remix singles on ACDC. Some of the
world’s top progressive producers have already
been contacted and the remixes are due to be released after the summer.
Interviews
and articles will be featured in the following magazines: Freeze (Greece),
DanceClub (Portugal), Mushroom (Germany), Laif (Poland)
and there will be an interview on Swedish national radio on the 26th
of may as well as a short interview on www.expander.nl, one of the worlds
leading progressive websites. Additionally there will also be adverts
in Mushroom, Upfront, Raveline, Freeze, Coda and heaps of others. Posters,
stickers and an extensive merchandise range will also accompany the release.
All
the tracks will also be available on the limited edition double LP.
