After a row of successful releases on labels such as Flying Rhino, Acid Casualties, Eve and Naja, only to name a few, the long awaited debutalbum by Atmos is here.

Tomasz Balicki, born in Poland but raised in Sweden, is today one of the most influential artist on the psychedelic trancescene.

It would be a shame to pigeon-hole his music as goa-trance though. Headcleaner is a fine selection of scandinavian trance that shows how much the music has progressed since it first got associated with full moon parties on far-away beaches in Asia.

With its delicate strings, subtle kickdrums and funky drum arrangements it fits just as well at home as on the dancefloor. The title, Headcleaner, refers to the tapes that are used to clean tape recorders. Music so smooth it will clean your hi-fi equipment but still kicking enough to clean your head.

This album will appeal to the clubby crowds as well as the hardcore tranceheads. The biggest proof of Atmos' popularity is the amount of people that has been calling to ask where they could buy the album since it first was mentioned in the german Mushroom Magazine months ago.

Headcleaner will be one of the most important trance albums this first year of the new millennium.
